After signing forwards Kiefer Bellows and Jayden Halbgewachs to professional tryouts earlier this week, the Carolina Hurricanes have once again added to their training camp roster, signing forward Zach Aston-Reese to a PTO, according to Walt Ruff.

Aston-Reese spent the 2022-2023 campaign with Toronto, skating in a career-high 77 games while tallying a career-high 10 goals and four assists. The 29-year old has appeared in 307 career games, recording 42 goals and 38 assists across six different seasons.

Aston-Reese spent part of five seasons in Pittsburgh after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He would finish the 2021-2022 campaign in Anaheim, where he saw action in 17 contests.

The former Penguin becomes the seventh Hurricane on a PTO heading into training camp, joining Bellows, Halbgewachs, Cory Conacher, Nathan Beaulieu, Nick Shore, and Brendan Perlini.

As a split-squad doubleheader on Sept. 29 awaits when Carolina faces off against both Florida and Tampa Bay in The Sunshine State, Aston-Reese helps them reach the 40-player minimum heading into training camp.

With an abundance of NHL experience, particularly on the fourth line, Aston-Reese is certainly a name to watch for heading into training camp.
